The 500-bed hospital by the trust of Padma Vibhushan Awardee & Philanthropist Mr AM Naik to serve patients from south Gujarat
The Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu will lay the foundation stone of the Nirali Multi-specialty Hospital at Navsari on March 5, 2021. The hospital will come up at the eight-acre A.M. Naik Healthcare Complex set up by the Nirali Memorial Medical Trust (NMMT), founded by Larsen & Toubro’s Group Chairman, philanthropist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Mr. AM Naik. The hospital is part of Mr. Naik’s philanthropic journey and mission to provide the finest medical care to the community at large.
The 500-bed hospital will be a boon to south Gujarat – a region which has traditionally been underserved in terms of advanced medical care. It will incorporate a range of advanced multi-disciplinary equipment, putting it on par with the finest of healthcare facilities.
As a multi-specialty hospital, the range of services include: General Medicine, General Surgery, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery, Paediatrics Including Neonatology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedic Treatment, Critical and Trauma Care.
The hospital will stand adjacent to the soon-to-be-inaugurated Nirali Cancer Hospital for which the foundation stone was laid by Hon’ble Prime Minister in 2019. The Nirali Cancer Hospital will consist of state-of-the-art facilities including linear accelerator, 3D mammography, X-Ray facility and nuclear medicine to treat cancer patients.
Commenting on the occasion Mr AM Naik said, “My focus for philanthropy is on South Gujarat, my janmabhoomi and Mumbai, my karmabhoomi. Our mission is to provide the finest medical care to the largest number of people.”
“I am delighted and honoured that Honourable Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has agreed to grace this occasion and pave the way for making best-in-class and affordable tertiary healthcare available to common people,” added Mr Naik.
In addition to the hospitals within the A.M. Naik Healthcare Complex in Navsari, the long track record of Nirali Memorial Medical Trust includes setting up a multi-diagnostic centre in Powai, Mumbai, and mobile medical units which serve several rural districts.
In addition to his medical philanthropic work, Mr AM Naik is also promoting education and skill-building through Naik Charitable Trust. It has set up schools in south Gujarat, a unique ‘Vedic’ school in Valsad and a skill-training centre in Kharel, near Navsari. All of them in their own way help society fulfil vital needs.
